Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the uSchool platform ("the platform", "we", "our"). By accessing or using the platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using the platform, you confirm that you are authorized to act on behalf of your school and that you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.
2. Description of Service
uSchool is a web-based school management platform designed for Primary and Secondary schools. The platform provides tools for:
- Student enrollment and records management.
- Attendance tracking and parent notifications.
- Fee management, invoicing, and payment recording.
- Gradebook, report card generation, and academic analytics.
- Staff management and timetable scheduling.
- Parent and teacher communication portals.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must:
- Provide accurate and complete information during registration.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.
- Not share your account credentials with unauthorized persons.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable Ugandan law.
- Upload harmful, offensive, or misleading content.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data.
- Interfere with or disrupt the platform's infrastructure or security.
- Use the platform to send unsolicited communications (spam).
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the platform.
5. Data Ownership
Schools retain full ownership of all data entered into the platform, including student records, financial data, and academic information. uSchool does not claim ownership of your data. We act as a data processor on behalf of the school.
6. Subscription & Payments
- The platform offers different pricing tiers as displayed on our pricing page.
- Subscriptions are billed per term and can be cancelled at any time.
- All prices are in Ugandan Shillings (UGX) and are inclusive of applicable taxes.
- A free 30-day trial is available for new schools with no credit card required.
- Failure to pay may result in temporary suspension of access until payment is received.
7. Service Availability
We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The platform may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We will notify users of planned maintenance in advance whenever possible.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Ugandan law:
- uSchool is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by your school in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
Either party may terminate the service at any time. Upon termination:
- We will provide a reasonable period to export your data.
- Data will be retained for up to 12 months after termination, then permanently deleted.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms without notice.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be communicated via the platform dashboard or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through the courts of Uganda.
